How is the 7% calculated?
7% of the profit margin on each closed project — not 7% of gross revenue. Profit margin = project price minus direct production costs (crew, gear, post, licensing, travel). The margin figure is itemized on your partner statement for every project you refer.
When do I get paid?
Partner commission is paid out within 15 days of the client's final payment to Craft Films LA. You pick the method — Zelle, direct deposit, PayPal, or wire — at signup.
Do I have to do the production work myself?
No. The core deal is lead referral only. However, if you're a professional in a relevant craft (video, photo, editing, sound, writing), you're also welcome to pitch yourself for the production work at full crew rates — in addition to the 7% commission.
What if the lead I refer goes dark or doesn't close?
No lead, no commission — but no cost to you either. There's zero downside. We only pay out when a project actually closes and the client pays.
Can agencies and consultants join?
Yes. We offer white-label referrals for agencies and consultants. We quote at a partner rate so you can mark up as needed, and we respect your client relationship — Craft never contacts your clients outside the project scope.
What happens if I bring a lead that turns into a multi-project client?
You keep earning 7% on every subsequent project they book for the first 12 months after the first close. After 12 months, we're happy to extend by agreement.
Where's the contract?
The full Partner Agreement is sent to you after your application is accepted. It's plain-English, roughly 4 pages, and covers lead attribution, commission calculation, payment terms, non-circumvention, and termination. Signed digitally.
Can I promote via social, email, or paid ads?
Yes — any ethical channel. We provide approved copy, imagery, and your unique partner link. Paid ads are allowed with brand-safety guidelines (no misleading claims, no bidding on Craft trademark keywords).
What does ‘respect for the role’ actually mean?
Simple version: the referral is the referral. Once we take over, our producers and crew run the project with the client. You get credit, you earn 7%, and we work hard to deliver — but we don't negotiate commission above the agreed rate, we don't let referrers override the creative team, and we don't accept applications from people trying to insert themselves into client decisions, demand exclusivity, or push unreasonable asks. If that framing works for you, you're exactly who we want to work with.
